Claire Daly has established a reputation as one of the most talented, eclectic and innovative baritone saxophonists on today's jazz scene. A four-time winner of the Downbeat Critic's Poll "Talent Deserving Wider Recognition," Daly also won the Jazz Journalist Association's "Baritone Sax of the Year '05" category. After graduation from Berklee College of Music, Daly anchored the sax section in the Diva Big Band for seven years, and has recorded three CDs as a leader.

Bassist Ray Drummond’s discography includes
more than 300 recordings with legends such as Stan
Getz, Kenny Burrell, David Murray and Wynton Marsalis.
Drummond also has 11 recordings to his credit as
a leader or co-leader, and currently has three working
groups: the Excursion sextet, a quartet and a duo
with pianist Bill Mays. Drummond is currently an
Assistant Professor at California State University

Giacomo Gates has developed an authentic "vocalese" style in the tradition of masters Jon Hendricks, Babs Gonzales, King Pleasure and Eddie Jefferson. Like his influences, Gates has forged his own unique path. Gates has worked with Hendricks, Mark Murphy, Kurt Elling, Andy Bey - as well leading his own groups on tours throughout the U.S. and around the world. Gates will be releasing a new CD - his fourth as a leader - in early 2008.

Fred Ho is a Chinese American baritone saxophonist, composer, writer, producer, political activist and leader of the Afro Asian Music Ensemble, the Monkey Orchestra and Caliente! Circle Around the Sun, which features Ho's solo baritone sax with poets Magdalena Gomez and Raul Salinas. Ho has written over a half dozen critically acclaimed operas such as Voice of the Dragon, and has released more than a dozen recordings as a leader. Ho is working on a new opera, Mr. Mystery: The Return of Sun Ra to Save Planet Earth.

Oliver Lake
Oliver Lake is truly a modern Renaissance Man. In addition to his musical contributions as a composer, saxophonist, flautist and bandleader, Lake is also a renowned poet, painter and performance artist. In addition to performing and touring with his Steel Quartet, his Big Band, the World Saxophone Quartet, Trio 3 and his one man performance piece, Matador of 1st and 1st,, Lake collaborates with Mary Redhouse, Anna Devere Smith, Patricia Williams, Craig Harris, Shuni Tsou and other artists in many disciplines.

Peter Leitch recorded with Oscar Peterson in 1980, and has gone on to record or perform with John Hicks, Kenny Barron, Tommy Flanagan and a host of other top musicians. Leitch
displays his swinging, hardbop-based style on 16
recordings as a leader as well on the Concord, Criss
Cross and Reservoir labels. Leitch works in a variety
of settings – from duo to sextet, and has
been an artist-in-residence and a clinician at many
universities. |

In addition to his talents as a jazz pianist, Bill
Mays has deep roots in gospel, pop and classical
music as well. Over the course of his four decade-plus
career, Mays has appeared on over 100 recordings,
working with everyone from Sarah Vaughan (including
17 under his own name)
Currently, Bill Mays tours and records in several
contexts: solo piano, duo, trio and sextet. Mays
also performs classical/jazz crossover concerts
with groups such as the Toronto Chamber Jazz Sextet. |

NASH
Drummer Lewis Nash has appeared on more than 400
recordings, and has worked with luminaries such
as Tommy Flanagan, Betty Carter, Sonny Rollins,
Clark Terry, Wynton Marsalis, Oscar Peterson, Jackie
McLean and Horace Silver, just to name a few, over
the course of his 25 year career as a professional
musician. Nash currently leads several of his own
groups, ranging from a duo to a septet. He frequently
presents lectures, workshops and clinics around
the country. |

BRIAN OWENS
Brian Owens is rapidly earning a reputation as one of the most promising young vocalists on today's music scene. At the age of 26, Owens has already worked with Dianne Reeves, Peter Martin, Christine Brewer and Herlin Riley -- and opened for Ramsey Lewis, Boney James and Spyro Gyra, Brian's recent live recording, Inspired, is the follow up to B Natural, his debut studio effort.

PERSON
Proficient on both saxophone and flute, Eric Person
has established himself as one of the freshest,
most dynamic musicians on the contemporary jazz
scene. Since moving to New York in 1982, Person
has worked and recorded with Dave Holland, the world
Saxophone Quartet, Chico Hamilton and others. Person
leads his own group, Meta-Four, and has recorded
six releases as a leader. Person is also an accomplished
composer and arranger, and writes most of the material
performed by Meta-Four. |

ERIC REVIS
Bassist Eric Revis received his early musical training under the guidance of Ellis Marsalis, Harold Batiste and Victor Goines at the University of New Orleans before moving to New York City in 1994 to play with legendary vocalist Betty Carter. Since 1997, Revis has been the bassist for the Branford Marsalis Quartet. He has also recorded with Russell Gunn, James Hurt, Jeff Watts and Orrin Evans. Revis released his debut recording as a leader, Tales of the Stuttering Mime, in 2004.

Vocalist/pianist/songwriter Anita Rosamond has earned a reputation as one of the most exciting performers on the Midwest music scene. Anita has won critical acclaim for recent performances at the St. Louis Jazz & Heritage Festival, Jazz at the Bistro, the Sheldon Concert Hall, the Old Webster Jazz Festival and Finale. Anita's vocal talent and wide-ranging repertoire are showcased on her 2006 recording, Timeless, a winning blend of jazz standards, soulful R&B and well-crafted originals.

WILLIAMS
One of the most respected bassists in jazz for the
past four-plus decades, Buster Williams has worked
with a who’s who of the jazz world –
a list that includes Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis,
Gene Ammons, Sonny Stitt, Betty Carter, Sarah Vaughan,
Nancy Wilson, Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz and many
more. He has recorded 13 releases as a leader, and
has been a member of influential groups such as
Sphere and the Timeless All-Stars. Williams leads
his own trio and quartet. |

JESSICA
WILLIAMS
Pianist Jessica Williams was classically trained
at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in her native
Baltimore, but began playing jazz as a teenager
in Philadelphia with legendary drummer Philly Jo
Jones. She has performed with Stan Getz, Dexter
Gordon, Tony Williams, Charlie Haden and many other
notable jazz musicians over the years, and has released
more than 40 recordings as a leader as well. In
addition, Williams has received grants from the
National Endowment for the Arts, the Rockefeller
Foundation and a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial
Foundation fellowship for her work as a composer. |
